The International Symposium on Sonochemistry and Sonoprocessing 2007, "New Horizons in Sonochemistry and Sonoprocessing" has been held on December 6-9 in Kyoto Research Park, Kyoto, Japan. About 180 participants including 59 foreign attendees joined and discussed on various scientific matters on the sonochemistry.
   In opening remarks, Professor Maeda, the president of ISSS2007, addressed "Advance in Snochemistry in last 2 decades in Japan." Professor Mason who is the president of European Society of Sonochemistry, Professor Feng who is the authority of sonochemistry in China, and Professor Suslick who published many papers on sonochemistry in Nature and Science gave Plenary Lectures. Professor Grieser, Professor Petrier, and Professor Price gave Morning Lectures. Many lectures and presentations attracted a great deal of attention from participants. Ms. Judy Lee (P-16), Ms. Devi Sunartio (P-17), Mr. Marcio Inoue (P-39), and Ms. Wakana Morinaga (P-45) won the Young Investigator Poster Awards in recognition of young sonochemists' outstanding achievements.
   In closing remarks, Professor Koda addressed that the symposium was fruitful and some participants attempted to begin the joint research. He presented a sincere thanks for all participants and sponsors of ISSS2007.
